Silence is Consent

If you don't speak up you accept what is happening. This site was born out of the mainstream media's inability to cover the news. I am just an American cititzen trying to spread the word in the era of FCC consolidation, post 9/11 Patriot Act hysteria, hackable voting machines and war without end. I rant and post news items I perceive to be relevant to our current situation.

All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.

Social Security is not broken and therefore does not need to be fixed

The So Called Social Security Crisis (SCSSC) in laymen's terms
Bush backers made a sucker’s bet
But here’s what Bartlett, Bush and the think-tank spokesmen actually mean when they say Social Security’s going broke: They mean that the trust fund has been looted fair and square, that everybody who’s been paying those increased payroll taxes since 1983 has been successfully swindled and that the U.S. government need not honor those specialissue Treasury bonds. As Smith writes, it’s a financial "crime against the American public that makes Enron pale in comparison."
And Republicans want us to believe they won because of moral values
House GOP wants tighter rules for ethics investigationsPanel chief may lose post for allowing criticisms of DeLay
In the wake of back-to-back ethics slaps at House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, House Republicans are preparing to make it more difficult to begin ethics investigations and could remove the Republican chairman who presided over the admonishments delivered to DeLay last fall.
